Regional maps

Growing regions are classified as Exclusion, Containment or Recovery, based on the level of Psa infection. Click here for further information on regional classification or view the current regional classification map.

Boundaries for each region are listed below:

Exclusion

Exclusion regions either have no Psa-V identified, or Psa-V has recently been identified for the first time.

Far North

South Island

Containment

A Containment region has only limited Psa-V infection.

Whangarei

Recovery

A recovery region is where Psa-V is already widespread. Effective Monday 16 July 2018 KVH revoked boundaries within Recovery regions, creating one Recovery region with separate geographic locations across the North Island. View the map here.

Controlled areas

KVH has defined Controlled areas at several sites outside the South Island Exclusion region to which movement restrictions apply. For more information view the South Island Controlled Area Protocol and map.

Psa statistics

As at 6 December 2019 there are 3031 orchards identified with Psa-V and 93.5% of New Zealand’s kiwifruit hectares are on an orchard identified with the disease.
