PSA R&D

KVH and Zespri Innovation work in partnership to lead a global research and development (R&D) programme into Psa.

The programme was established in early 2011 and has enlisted the best scientific minds globally to provide solutions. We now have a toolbox for managing Psa, and our understanding of appropriate plant husbandry has progressed significantly.

The Zespri Innovation team partners with around 20 global researchers to provide the best available expertise to the New Zealand kiwifruit industry.

Please note, the below materials were published pre 1 April 2023, at which point the kiwifruit industry moved into a new phase of Psa management where the co-ordination and publication of management materials and advice shifted to Zespri. There is now a Psa hub of current information available on the Zespri Canopy.

Psa research projects and reports

The R&D programme has already produced a greater understanding of Psa, how it can be detected and how it can be managed. Our Psa knowledge develops through research projects and reports, and flows directly into practical Psa-management advice to growers, post-harvest operators and contractors.
