The provisional result for Psa-V on a kiwifruit orchard near Pukekohe received last week by Kiwifruit Vine Health Inc has now been confirmed. KVH has also received results identifying Psa-V on two further orchards in the Pukekohe area.

A laboratory verification process has been unable to confirm the preliminary positive Psa-V result from a Kerikeri Gold orchard that Kiwifruit Vine Health received initially Friday, 28 October 2011. Further testing on other kiwifruit vine material from the Kerikeri region has not returned any Psa-V positive test results either.
The plant activator, or elicitor, Actigard has been approved for use by regulatory authorities on kiwifruit vines for the control of Psa-V, subject to existing Kiwifruit Vine Health spray guidelines. Actigard will be released this week to kiwifruit growers as part of the seasonal Psa Management Programme.
Kiwifruit Vine Health Inc is still awaiting validation of the preliminary positive Psa-V result on a kiwifruit orchard in Kerikeri, received last Friday, 28 October. A verification process takes some time so the result is not expected until later this week or early next week.
