KVH, in conjunction with Zespri Innovation, is leading a global research and development (R&D) programme into Psa-V.
The programme was established in early 2011 and has enlisted the best scientific minds globally to provide solutions for Psa-V.
We now have a tool box for managing Psa-V, and our understanding of appropriate plant husbandry has progressed significantly since 2011.
The Innovation team partners with around 20 global researchers to provide the best available expertise to the New Zealand kiwifruit industry.
The KVH/Zespri R&D programme has already produced a greater understanding of Psa, how it can be detected and how it can be managed. Our Psa knowledge develops through research projects and reports, and this will flow directly into KVH's practical Psa-management advice to growers, post-harvest operators and contractors.
The KVH/Zespri product testing programme was developed to identify, rigorously test and get permission to use suitable products to help manage and control the spread of Psa-V. To date, more than 300 products have been tested for efficacy against Psa-V in the KVH/Zespri product testing programme.
